ABOUT US

​Jonesy's Pigeon Lofts (JPL) was started by the Jones family in Newcastle NSW Australia in 2020. I have been around pigeons at varying stages in my life having previously had racers, tumblers, tipplers, high flyers and a few show varieties when I was a youngster. Over the years I had made various attempts to get back into them making plans and building lofts at considerable time and expense but it wasn't until my mid 40's that the wheels finally started turning.  After a significant period of participating in endurance sport I was looking for a new pastime and thought this was the prime opportunity . I had a fair idea of what I wanted and approached a number of successful flyers to help me get off the ground. You blokes know who you are. 
I have also been involved in the breeding and exhibiting of dogs for 20 plus years and acquired a lot of knowledge on genetics and what it takes to breed successful families of functional animals. My own journey as an amateur athlete over many years has also taught me a lot about athlete preparation, nutrition and achieving peak performance. Like anyone, I am hoping to apply what I know to get the best health and performance out of my pigeons. The athletes of the sky.

QUALITY STOCK

My interest lies in breeding over and above racing. We have taken it very slow in acquiring our stock birds. The intention was to have a really good look at what was available and wait for the right opportunity, not the first one. Time will tell if this approach pays off but at least we know we have sourced the birds we really want.
